It is the result of inspiration, probably born during his childhood, in the sacred atmosphere of the Basilica of Saint Hubert. Between the grand organ and the horn players, when his father, the churchwarden, passed on to him the secrets of the stonemasons and a few other mysteries of this Ardennes temple.

Saint Hubert is celebrated on 3 November each year.
